In the heart of Bali, Indonesia, a collective of artisans, tailors, and carvers create eco-friendly products with the mission to replace environmentally damaging items. They believe anything can be fashioned into functional and beautiful products, and upcycle local materials into new creations. Scrap fabric from clothing companies; unwanted coconut shells and husks; bamboo from Jati Luwih – the team at Yasminida are innovative and ready to challenge themselves beyond the conventional. If the collected materials can’t be utilsed, they would recycle the waste or turn them into ecobricks. People are a priority to Yasminida. Like a family, everyone is insured a healthy and rewarding environment to work in. With fair trade practices in place, the team is ensured of good wages to support their individual needs, enabling increased standard of living and a more secure and sustainable livelihood. To help their local communities to thrive, Yasminida also conducts waste education at the village level, empowering their local peers to care for their planet.
