ABOUT NILU TEA

Each bag of Nilu Tea tells the story of the many people in the tea production cycle, from the garden to the cup. Sourced from the Kelani Valley and Talawakelle tea plantations that hold the Rainforest Alliance and Ethical Tea Partnership certifications, Nilu Tea offers a curated selection of premium quality pure Ceylon teas for the socially conscious. Nilu Tea believes their people are their most important asset and practices responsible farming practices through the “A Home For Every Plantation Worker” initiative, creating a community for the women tea pickers to the production staff. With each purchase of Nilu Tea, 10% of the profits will go to support Emerging Hope Lanka, a non-profit organisation that aims to empower and educate underprivileged women in Sri Lanka to start their micro-businesses.
