BOPE handcrafts each upcycled product from scratch to finish, giving waste a new lease of life. Their journey started when they realised contaminated plastics that cannot be sold to recycling plants would eventually end up as land waste. Determined to address the waste issue in Thailand, BOPE embarked on a steep learning curve to repurpose unwanted plastics and wood. To upcycle plastics, they created a machine based on existing plastic recycling technologies to produce coasters that are waterproof and breakproof, each unique from its marbling to colour. To tackle wood waste, BOPE collects discarded raw materials from boardgame factories and crafts coasters made from quality wood with beautiful grains.
